LIVONIA, Mich.-- Madonna University Women's Cross Country senior runner Christina Murphy has been named runner of the week by the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference on Monday afternoon after she concluded the regular season undefeated after a win at the LTU Spring Challenge.

Murphy won the 4,000 kilometer race out of 26 competing runners with a time of 14:51.4. Murphy has won every meet she's competed in this season at the SMWC Invite in Indiana, the Aquinas College Spring Shuffle, and most recently the LTU Spring Challenge. This is the second runner of the week award Murphy has been bestowed in as many weeks. Last Thursday, Murphy was National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Runner of the Week as well.

Both the men's and women's teams will be in action on Friday, March 21 for the WHAC Cross Country Championships with the men's race slated to start at 4:00 p.m.
