LIVONIA, Mich. – The Madonna University Crusaders women's soccer team saw the Siena Heights Saints come into the Madonna Athletic Complex for a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The action started quick for the Crusaders as they took an early lead when Megan Verant was able to get a ball from Nicolette Vultaggio and get their ball past the Saints goalie for the 1-0 lead.
- The Saints would be able to respond quickly as they responded in the next three minutes on a goal from Isabel Remar.
- The game would not remain tied for long at all as the final goal of the game would come from Abby Werthman who would score her first career goal in the 12th minute as that would give them the lead for the remainder of the game.
- Both teams would have solid opportunities throughout the rest of the game as neither team would be able to score throughout the rest of the game.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Madonna would be able to outshoot the Saints throughout the game 15-5 overall and 7-2 in shots on goal.
- The Crusaders would attempt seven corner kicks as opposed to Siena Heights six.
- Seven different Crusaders would tally shots on the Saints as they were led by Verant with five.

- The Crusaders next game will travel to Ann Arbor as they will go up against Concordia University as they will begin with a 12 PM kickoff.
