LIVONIA, Mich.– The Madonna University Women's soccer team returned to the Madonna Athletic Complex for their first game since November of 2019 as they went up against Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opponent Warriors of Indiana Tech University. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• The Crusaders had multiple opportunities in the early part of the game as they kept the pressure on the offensive half of the field for the majority of the half. 
• Madonna picked up their only goal of the game when Megan Verant was able to get a rebound off of a Nicolette Vultaggio saved shot that beat the Warriors keeper to the net. 
• The rest of the half saw both teams go back and forth each getting solid opportunities on their respective ends. 
• The second half started and saw the Warriors regain some of the time of possession. 
• Despite multiple opportunities on both sides of the ball neither team was able to score throughout the second half. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• The Crusaders dominated the shot column 17-5, including the shots on goal 7-4. 
• Brooke Bruletti saved all four shots that she faced throughout the afternoon with a couple key saves in the second half. 
• Seven different Blue and Gold collected shots and were led by Verant with five, including three on goal. 

UP NEXT

• The Crusaders will remain at home when they go up against the Saints of Siena Heights University on Saturday March 13 beginning with a 1 PM kickoff.
