GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.-- Madonna University's Men's Soccer team began postseason play as they traveled to take on the No.4 seed Aquinas College (Mich.) at the AQ Athletic Field in the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Tournament Quarterfinals where they would fall 2-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
It was a back and forth match in the first half as both teams had plenty of opportunities to score. It was scoreless up until the 32nd minute when the Saints were awarded a free kick just outside the box. The Saint's player was able to bend his shot around the wall and beat Youssou Ouendeno to get the 1-0 lead.
In the second half, the Crusaders tried to up the pressure to get the game-tying goal. However, the Crusaders allowed a counter-attack and the Saints were able to capitalize on it and would extend their lead to 2-0. That would be the final nail in the coffin for the Crusaders and their season would come to an end in Grand Rapids.
