FORT WAYNE, Ind.-- Madonna University's women's soccer team were on the road as they traveled to Indiana Tech Wednesday night to continue Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play and came away with a 6-1 victory. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Crusaders were very aggressive early to start the match as they had two shots on goal within the first five minutes of the game but the Tech keeper would make both saves. The Crusaders kept their foot on the gas pedal as they totaled 17 shots in the first half.

Madonna would get on the board in the first half at the 35:18 mark. Sydnie Voss played Megan Verant into the left side of the box. Verant took a touch, ripped a shot with her left foot and placed it right into the bottom right corner. 

Tech would get on the board tonight as in the 38th minute, they lined up for a free kick and it was able to sneak past Alex Thomas to make it 1-1. Right before the end of the half, the Crusader would get another goal when Sierra Nissan crossed it into the box as Syndie Voss came flying in for the header to make it 2-1. 

In the second, Crusaders continued to dominate totaling 14 shots. Crusaders would score four goals this half. Mary Philimona, Abby Werthman, Victoria Sia and Holly McManus all found the back of the net. The Crusaders would win this one 6-1 and move to a perfect 10-0-0 on the season.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
 

• Verant scored her 12th goal of the season. 
• Werthman scored her 11th goal of the season.
• Julieann White racked up two assists as well, giving her four on the year.

The Crusaders will be back at the Madonna Athletic Complex on Saturday October 9, at 11:00 a.m. for Senior Day against Rochester University.
