LIVONIA, Mich.-- Madonna University's women's soccer team were back home as the faced off against Rochester University (Mich.) Saturday morning to continue Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play and came away with a 4-0 victory on Senior Day..

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Crusaders were aggressive early to start the match as they had three shots on goal within the first thirteen minutes of the game but Rochester's keeper would make all three saves. The Crusaders kept their foot on the gas pedal as they totaled 14 shots in the first half.

Madonna would get on the board in the first half at the 16:35  mark as Grace Thomas sent a cross into the box, Rochester's goalie came out to catch it, bobbled it and senior Sylvia Rios put it in the back of the net. 

In the second, Crusaders continued to dominate totaling 19 shots. Madonna would score three more goals this half behind Thomas, Sydnie Voss, and Morgan Stack all finding the back of the net. 

Crusader's goalie tonight was Emilohi Izirein,who was making her first start of the year. Izirein and the defense were dominant. The Crusader's defense only allowed two shots all game which helped out Izirein.  

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
 

• Rios scored her first goal of the season. 
• Thomas scored her sixth goal, and racked up her seventh assist of the season.

The Crusaders will be on the road at Wildcat Stadium on Wednesday October 13, at 4:00 p.m. for a match against Lourdes University (Ohio).
