@MUCrusadersWSOC picks up another win against the Wolverines

DEARBORN, Mich. - The Madonna Crusaders women's soccer team traveled to Dearborn to continue the hot streak of soccer that they have been playing as of late. They came into today's game on a three game win streak and left extending that streak to four with a 4-0 victory.

The Crusaders have improved their record to 11-2-1 record and 6-1 in the conference, while the Wolverines fall to 1-10 on the season and 0-7 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Crusaders started out fast with a goal in the fourth minute as Grace Thomas was able to get a pass off to Sydnie Voss as she was able to put it in the back of the net for the early 1-0 lead.
  • The Blue and Gold got more shots off and ended up scoring in the 30th minute on a goal from Sierra Nissan as she beat the goalie to the other side for her fourth goal of the season.
  • In the 49th minute Grace Thomas got a nice ball from Mary Philimona that she was able to put past the goalie to score her ninth goal of the season.
  • The final goal of the game came in the last minute of the match as Madison Servey was able to score her first goal of her career.
  • Alex Thomas and Brooke Bruletti combined for the ninth shutout on the season for the Crusaders. With five out of the last six games ending in a shutout.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • The Crusaders are now 3-0 all-time against the Wolverines
  • The Crusaders dominated the shot column as they outshot the Cougars 35-3 with also leading shot on goal with 18-2
  • Fourteen total Crusaders tallied a shot in the contest
  • Melanie Porter led the game with seven shots (four on goal), Thomas had four shots (two on goal) and Megan Verant with four shots (three on goal) to lead the team
UP NEXT
  • The Crusaders will continue conference play on Wednesday, October 23 at 5PM when they will travel over the border into Ohio to face off against the Gray Wolves form Lourdes University.
