LIVONIA, Mich. - The Madonna University women's soccer team won their second straight Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference match against Indiana Tech University on Wednesday afternoon at the Madonna Athletics Complex by a score of 2-0.
The Crusaders dominated play on both ends of the field while Julia Stewart earned her seventh shutout of the season. The Blue and Gold improve to 8-2-1 on the year and 3-0-1 in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play, while the Warriors fall to 3-8-0 on the season with a 2-2-0 conference record.
HOW IT HAPPENED

FIRST HALF

The first ten minutes of play saw only one shot by an Indiana Tech forward before Alexis Bozinovski broke the tie on the first Crusader shot of the game. Bozinovski received a pass from Sierra Nissan before beating the keeper just inside the left post at the 10:05 mark in the first half.

Following a strong offensive push late in the first half, Megan Verant put the Crusaders ahead 2-0 off a perfectly placed shot just under the crossbar from a few yards outside the box.

SECOND HALF

The Blue and Gold controlled play throughout the second half, allowing zero Warrior shots in 45 minutes of play. The Crusaders on the other hand peppered the Warrior keeper with 11 shots, forcing eight more saves for a game total of 12.
INSIDE THE BOX

The Crusaders outshot the Warriors by a total of 18-3, 14 of which were one frame compared to two for Indiana Tech.

Stewart collected her seventh shutout with two saves in 90 minutes of play, while the Indiana Tech keeper made 12 saves in the loss.

The Blue and Gold attempted six corner kicks in the contest, with five in the first half.
