LIMA, Ohio - A six goal first half was too much for the Madonna University women's soccer team to overcome in a 7-1 loss to the 20th-ranked Racers of the University of Northwestern Ohio at Racer Stadium on Wednesday. The loss drops the Crusaders to 12-3-2 on the year and 7-1-2 in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play while the Racers improve to 11-3-3 overall and 9-1 in league action.
HOW IT HAPPENED

UNOH raced out to a 6-0 lead in the first 45 as they netted a pair of breakaway goals in the first 11 minutes and it was took much for MU to overcome.

The Blue and Gold got on the board in the 76th minute when Cristina Moraccini found the feet of Jamie Moceri who fired a shot just inside the right post for her ninth goal of the season.

The Racers added a 1-v-1 tally in the 79th minute for the final margin.

The Racers outshot the Crusaders 18-4 in the contest which included a 12-1 margin in the first half. UNOH put 11 shots on goal to Madonna's three.

The Blue and Gold will wrap up the regular season with a senior day contest against Cornerstone at the Madonna Athletics Complex on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 1 p.m. Before the game MU will honor five seniors for their contributions to the team.
