GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Madonna University women's soccer team and goalkeeper Julia Stewart notched a seventh straight shutout and achieved some history on Saturday afternoon at the AQ Athletic Field as a 1-0 win over Aquinas gave the senior keeper her 12th shutout of the season, the most in a single season in program history. For the team, it is the second most in a season tied with the 2005 team and two shy of the record set in 2000 at 14.
The win moves the Crusaders to 12-2-2 on the year and 7-0-2 in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play, one point behind University of Northwestern Ohio for the top spot. The Saints fall to 11-4-1 and 7-1-1 in league play, one point behind the Crusaders in third.
