Shapic, also a junior, shattered her previous career-best times by posting a 17:50.4, the first time she came in under 18:00 minutes and 34 seconds faster than her previous career-best. Shapic’s impressive All-American National Championship performance led the Crusaders to a second place finish, with just six points separating the women’s team from the national champion Oregon Tech Owls.
