Kopitz, a freshman from Livonia, earned the honor with a pair of goals in the Crusaders’ 2-2 draw with Concordia on Wednesday. The newest Crusader was off to a fast start this season with 14 points on six goals and two assists. An injury forced her to miss the closing minutes of the tie and Saturday’s upset of Siena Heights, but her speed and ability to score had been key pieces to the MU offense this year.
