Crusaders Put on Offensive Clinic to Down Scots

LIVONIA, Mich. – The Madonna University Women's Soccer Team secures a big offensive win against the Scots of Alma University with a commanding score of 6-1. 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: 
 
The Crusaders took on the Scots of Alma in a Wednesday afternoon matchup in Livonia, Mich which ended up in a heavy scoring total for the Crusaders. Graduate student, Rhiannon Holmes, kicks off the scoring onslaught at the 11:29 minute mark in this first half assisted by senior Morgan Stack. The Crusaders added onto their lead with a goal from freshman, Nadine Jawad, at the 22:57 minute mark in the first half. The Crusaders put up another goal at the 37:00 minute mark by way of senior, Sara Castillo. The Crusaders upperclassman showing their experience through the first half.  
 
With the Crusaders holding a strong 3-0 lead going into the second half; Nadine Jawad decided that one goal was not enough for her goal total for the day as she notched goal number four for the Crusaders at the 45:23 minute mark in the second half. Almost ten minutes later, senior Morgan Stack decided she wanted to get in on the scoring action and grab her second point of the game by scoring at the 54:13 minute mark in the second half. Alma Scot junior, Breanna McCluskey, tried to spark her team by scoring a goal with a header from a corner kick from senior, Jacqueline Daigneault. The Crusaders regained their five-goal lead late into the second half at the 87:47 minute mark with a goal from senior Caroline Kopp. With this offensive surge of a win the Crusaders move to 3-2-0 on the season, snapping their two-game losing streak. Additionally, junior goalkeeper, Arya Shulaw, notches her first win on the season.
