Despite playing down several key members due to COVID-19 protocols, the Crusaders got off to a slow start, trailing 3-0, but back-to-back kills by Jodie Kelly got the offense started and MU never looked back. A pair of consecutive service aces from Karolina Noszczyk highlighted a 14-3 Crusaders rally that turned a 7-6 deficit into a 20-10 advantage. Concordia responded by scoring 10-of-13 to cut the lead to three but kills by Kelly and Emily Stewart sealed the set one win.
In set two the Cardinals again hung around early, until Noszczyk stepped to the service line and tallied three aces to turn a 6-5 hole into a 12-6 lead. After an MU error, Ryan Castle stepped to the service line and added an ace of her own while Kacie Stoneburner and DJ Sargent tallied a block assist to help MU to an 18-7 advantage. After trading side-outs, Sargent sealed the win with a termination.
Madonna seemed to be in control in set three until a 5-0 run by Concordia gave them a 17-16 lead. The visitors were the first to 22 as well, but a kill from Kelly and a pair of Cardinal errors gave MU the 23-22 lead. After trading a pair of side-outs, Cassidy Curtis and Sargent delivered back-to-back kills to seal the win.
